Pfeifer Insurance partners with American Specialty Express to provide Gymnastics Insurance. This policy covers facilities and training centers that provide gymnastics training and other related activities such as tumbling, cheerleading, dance, martial arts, aerobics/exercise classes, and more. Facilities with ancillary trampolines, inflatables, overnight lock-ins, birthday parties, and day camps/competitions are also eligible for this program.

GymnasticsWhat is Included in a Gymnastics Policy?

Liability and accident insurance are included in every quote with options to add coverage for non-owned and hired auto liability, abuse and molestation, contents and equipment, and excess liability limits. The following information is offered as a snapshot of the coverages provided through the American Specialty Express insurance program:

The American Specialty Express program for gymnastics training facilities covers gymnastics instruction and training and much more. We understand gymnastics facilities often go beyond gymnastics instruction in offering a range of activities that build strength, agility, self-discipline, and respect. Our program is designed to meet the insurance needs of diverse training facilities that fill an important need for our communities.

Coverages are tailored specifically for these training centers including general liability protection for the facility, its employees and volunteers, as well as excess accident medical insurance for participants. Coverage may be extended to cover multiple locations and even provides an option to cover the facility’s booster club(s). The program is a great fit for facilities that host competitions. For those studios that rent or lease the facility where they operate, the insurance meets most landlord requirements, as well.

Why do you need insurance for your gymnastics studio?

1. A student injures her neck during practice and has to be transported by ambulance to the hospital. Medical bills for the transport and ongoing care are significant, and she misses quite a bit of school as a result of the injury. The student is not able to participate in gymnastics for the foreseeable future, which is devastating as she had planned to compete in college. The family believes the gym is at fault for the injury and seeks representation by an attorney who is glad to take the case. The demand letter seeks reimbursement for the father’s missed time from work to care for his daughter and for lost college scholarship funds. The facility owner immediately shares the letter with the Gymnastics Facility Insurance provider, American Specialty Express, who retains an attorney to defend the facility and its employees against the allegations.

2. A parent coming to pick her son up after practice slips on ice on the sidewalk outside the gym. The gym owner had asked an employee to clear and salt the walkway, but the employee was busy with other responsibilities and hadn’t gotten to it yet. The parent fractures her wrist, which requires surgery and causes her to miss several weeks of work. She doesn’t hire an attorney, but asks the training center to pay for her out-of-pocket medical bills and time off work. The owner had reported the accident to the Gymnastics Facility Insurance provider, American Specialty Express, the day it happened. The insurer works with the injured parent to agree upon a fair settlement and resolve the matter.

3. A gymnast injures her wrist while doing work on the uneven bars. Her parents have insurance to cover the medical bills, but they have a large deductible plan. They are pleased to learn the gym’s accident medical insurance will cover their out-of-pocket medical bills. The gym owner submits an incident report to American Specialty Express. The insurer works directly with the family, and the family is reimbursed for the majority of their out-of-pocket medical costs which is a huge relief.

These are just a few examples where Gymnastics Facility Insurance will come to the gymnastics center’s defense and protect its valuable assets and ability to continue operating.
